Acupucture for Veterans

Veterans returning home from deployment may face health issues like pain, PTSD, anxiety, and other ailments. The good news is that acupuncture can help!

Acupuncture offers numerous advantages and has the potential to significantly enhance one's quality of life. The best part is that it does not carry the negative and potentially hazardous side effects commonly associated with drug-based treatments, especially pain medicine. According to a study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, veterans who received non-drug-based treatments for pain had a "markedly lower" risk of various issues, including alcohol or drug disorders, thoughts of suicide, self-inflicted injury, and accidental poisoning with opioids, related narcotics, barbiturates, or sedatives. Given the ongoing opioid crisis and the remarkable benefits of acupuncture, this non-drug-based option is regarded as a reasonable and essential supplementary treatment for managing pain.
